Course Description

The LEEA Lifting Accessories Diploma (LAC), delivered by GSS Training, is a globally recognised qualification designed for professionals involved in the testing, inspection, examination, and maintenance of lifting accessoriessuch as slings, shackles, hooks, and chain assemblies. This Diploma replaces the previous Lifting Equipment General (LEG) Advanced Programme and provides the technical depth, practical skills, and regulatory understanding needed to ensure the safe and compliant use of lifting accessories in industrial environments. It equips learners to identify defects, verify integrity, and ensure lifting accessories remain fit for purpose — a vital competence for those working in construction, oil & gas, offshore, and heavy engineering sectors.This Diploma qualification is essential for anyone engaged in the testing, inspection, examination and repair/maintenance of lifting accessories.

This course replaces the previous Lifting Equipment General (LEG) Advanced Programme.

Passed the LEEA Foundation or previous Part 1 Entry (P1E) course.

Unit 2 (Non-Fixed Load Attachments)

  • ‘C’ hooks
  • Crane Fork
  • Lifting inserts

How is the course assessed?

Written Examination: Closed-book test covering standards, inspection procedures, and safety practices.

Practical Assessment: Direct observation of lifting accessory inspection, defect identification, and reporting accuracy.

Certification: Learners must demonstrate competence in both theory and practical elements to receive the LEEA-Accredited LAC Certificate, valid for 5 years.
