Course Description

The LEEA Powered Lifting Machines Diploma (PLM), delivered by GSS Training, is a globally recognised qualification for professionals involved in the testing, inspection, examination, and maintenance of powered lifting machines, including electric chain hoists, overhead cranes, powered trolleys, and motor-driven winches. This Diploma replaces the previous Lifting Machines Power (LMP) Advanced Programme and provides learners with advanced competence in mechanical, electrical, and control systems used in powered lifting operations. The PLM equips learners to confidently inspect, diagnose faults, and maintain powered lifting machinery in accordance with international standards — ensuring operational safety, compliance, and reliability across diverse industrial environments.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a LEEA-Accredited Powered Lifting Machines Diploma (PLM)from the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) through GSS Training.
This globally recognised qualification is valid for 5 years.

Prerequisite: Completion of the LEEA Foundation Certificate (FOU)

Recommended: Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge or relevant industrial experience

Written Examination: Closed-book test assessing knowledge of standards, components, and inspection procedures.

Practical Assessment: Evaluation of hands-on inspection, electrical fault identification, and documentation accuracy.

Certification: Learners must successfully complete both theory and practical components to receive the LEEA-Accredited PLM Certificate, valid for 5 years.
